A summer volunteering program in Israel for college students and young professionals ages

18-35. The participants live and volunteer in Tel Aviv for non-profit organization four times a week, explore the Israeli landscape through weekly day trip and discover Israeli culture & society through different educational and cultural events.

The Myer and Rosaline Feinstein Center for American Jewish History, Temple University, announces the Feinstein Center Database of American Jewish Historical Repositories on its website, www.temple.edu/feinsteinctr. The database includes a record of each repository holding material on American Jewish history. Each entry in the database includes the name, address, contact information, description of holdings and website URL for each archive. The Database is a PDF file and may be searched using the Adobe Reader 'Find' box and the 'Full Reader Search' selection. Please send any comments, additions or revisions to the webmaster.

MASA is an umbrella organization that provides links to every imaginable opportunity in Israel and it can link you into Israel in any way you decide. MASA has links to an enormous variety of volunteer programs from Magen David Adom to OTZMA, to WUJS and more. Through Pardes and dozens of other Yeshiva and Seminary programs, MASA provides young Jews thirsty for Jewish knowledge with the tools to understand their heritage more deeply than ever before. All programs have scholarships available, each comes with a 6-week intensive Hebrew Uplan course, and English is always spoken. Kol Tzedek is a Reconstructionist Synagogue in West Philadelphia committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community. Mekor Habracha began in 1999 as a community-led congregation in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia. Since its inception, it has attracted a diverse group of people ranging from students, young professionals, families, and empty nesters. For eight years the group met under the auspices of the Etz Chaim organization. In 2006, Rabbi Eliezer Hirsch was recruited from New York to lead the congregation, and since his arrival the congregation has grown and flourished. In 2008, the synagogue became an independent organization serving the Center City Philadelphia community. Please join us soon for a unique Shabbat experience!

Minyan Merkaz is an independent, egalitarian minyan committed to spirited traditional prayer. Merkaz meets in Center City approximately twice a month.

     

Project Shinui ("Shinui" in Hebrew means change) serves as a gateway for individuals and groups interested in devoting their specific talents and strengths towards affecting social change in Israel by directing them to Israeli social change organizations best suited to their abilities and interests. Our volunteers work in various capacities for organizations focusing on different areas.
